The college has two main campuses and a plumbing campus in Brighton and Hove. Our Central Campus is located in the centre of the ‘city by the sea’. Brighton is a major educational centre with a large international student population who enjoy its relaxed, cosmopolitan air, buzzing nightlife and thriving culture.
Our East Campus (located close to Brighton Marina) includes state-of-the-art dance and music practice studios, sports facilities for Public Services and Sports courses as well as housing our 14-16 Construction Trade Centre and Brickwork department.
Mini Bus Service to City College East Campus
City College Brighton and Hove runs a regular minibus service between our main campus in Pelham Street (Central) and our campus in Wilson Avenue (City College East).
The service is free for all staff and students and you will need to provide the driver with your ID before travel. The drivers names are Simon and Bill. To view the mini bus timetable click here.
City College’s bright, modern and welcoming new Student Centre at the Pelham Campus provides a highly convenient ‘one stop shop’ for both current and potential new students. At the centre, experienced staff are on hand to help you with course advice & guidance, admissions & enrolment enquiries, student services (including financial support and the City Jobs employment service), adult & community learning enquiries and careers advice. The centre also provides advice and information for international students.
Whether you’re into competitive sport or just keeping fit, City College offers free sports facilities to help keep you at the top of your game. We have two full-size all-weather pitches, grass sports fields, an indoor sports hall at Stanley Deason Leisure Centre (on campus) and a fully-equipped gym with all the latest cardiovascular exercise and weights machines plus a boxing ring and training facilities.
We have a fully equipped gym which is based at our City East Campus on Wilson Avenue. This is free for all students to use.
The LRC is located on the second floor of Pelham Tower. Here you will be able to access a wide range of resources. There are over 40,000 books, 3,000 ebooks, 300 current periodicals, nearly 2,000 DVDs and a large collection of music CDs. There are over 3,000 videos, mostly television programmes, available as streamed media via the CCB TV site. The LRC acts as an IT drop-in centre for the main campus and contains 87 workstations, and five multi-functional devices which function as printers (both black and white and colour), photocopiers and flatbed scanners.
Dedicated IT drop-in suites are available across the college for course assignment work.
For students who are looking for expert hair and beauty treatments without paying extortionate salon prices, City College has its very own training salons that can offer you just that. Our students are training for nationally-recognised qualifications and are supervised by industry experienced tutors so you’ll receive a professional pampering for a fraction of the normal price. The college has recently re-launched its travel agency, City Travel, in new premises on the second floor of Pelham Tower. The agency, which is open to the public, is owned and run by the college in partnership with Hays Travel and gives students on Travel & Tourism courses the opportunity to get real life work experience within a live travel agency. City Travel’s offer includes short breaks, low cost flights, package holidays, cheap luxury cruises, long haul flights and tailor-made getaways. All educational/college trips are booked through City Travel and all profits from the agency are fed back into the college to support students in their studies and enrichment activities. For more information, contact City Travel on 01273 232638 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The college has a very successful Students' Union, run by City College students with support from two staff members to promote social, cultural and recreational activities. All part-time students are able to join the National Union of Students and receive the NUS card. This offers discounts both locally and nationally at cinemas, music stores, clubs, clothes stores, hairdressers and restaurants.
The Union organises many different events throughout the year including a talent show, trips to Amsterdam and Dublin and many sporting activities including inter-college football matches and basketball.
At City College, you will find the Central Cafe (Central Campus) and East Cafe (East Campus) which offer excellent value and fantastic variety. We are open throughout the day with a breakfast, lunch and early evening service. There is also the popular Coffee Stop and Grab and Go shop at the Central Campus with drinks and vending machines at both sites.
