So what are the sports academies?

At City College’s Sports Academies, students receive top class coaching from sports ex-professionals to bring out the best in each individual. City College’s Football Academy has already produced a treble-winning team in its first season and the new Boxing Academy is attracting some of the region’s most gifted boxers eager to have the opportunity to gain an NVQ qualification in Sporting Excellence. With City College’s Sports Academy programme now extended to include rugby and netball, the College’s reputation for sporting success looks likely to grow.
