Acting and Drama City College

Acting courses at City College prepare you for further training and employment in the performing arts industry, which offers many exciting opportunities including acting, direction, stage management and theatre and arts administration.

Through a mixture of practical lessons and vocational projects you will have the opportunity to develop your acting skills and your wider understanding of acting as an art.

Our staff are excellent and committed tutors and actors, our facilities are brilliant and our courses have excellent pass rates and record of students being accepted into Drama schools and Univeristy courses. If that wasn't enough to tempt you then maybe studying acting and drama in Brighton, one of the most exciting and dynamic places to study the art of acting, might. It is home to the Brighton Festival (where our students perform) and many theatres and companies that we have excellent links with.

Fantastic facilities and resources

Most of our lessons and rehearsals take place in our purpose built drama studio, which has full lighting and sound rig and is capable of staging studio theatre performances for audiences of up to 60 people.

The movement and dance classes take place in our purpose built dance studios, whilst the Pelham Theatre on Pelham Street  comfortably seat audiences of 200.

We also have top professional Sony Z1 high definition digital video cameras which are used for acting or camera lessons.

We are enrolling now for Full-time acting and drama courses in 09/10!

As well as providing training for the performing arts, these courses emphasis the skills that all employers are looking for, including team work, self confidence, communication skills, self motivation and the ability to meet targets.

Whatever stage you are at with your education or training, we offer a progression route that should take you from us to the stage, University or Drama school.
