City College Brighton and Hove Boxing Academy

How does it work?

The CCBA provides students with the opportunity to train throughout the week at a local boxing club gym, under the supervision and guidance of experienced and highly qualified coaches. At the same time students can continue in full-time education by choosing from a range of courses available at the college.

Students will receive specialist coaching that will focus on improving their boxing skills, techniques and tactical knowledge. Students will also develop their knowledge of boxing-specific strength and conditioning programmes. Our Head Coach is a Level 2 coach and has experience of working with male and female boxers at different levels and weight categories.

Alongside the boxing training students are expected to study on a BTEC Sport course at City College (Level 1 -3 depending on entry grades). Students will also complete their NVQ Level 2 in Boxing, and the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Sports Coaching. Students may choose to study additional coaching qualifications (timetable permitting).
