The Football Development Academy is an exciting one or two year programme that gives promising young footballers the opportunity to develop their football skills whist continuing in full-time education.
The FDA provides students with the opportunity to train three times per weekand play in competitive matches on a Wednesday afternoon at national, regional and local level. Students will receive specialist coaching from former Albion legends Michel Kuipers and Richard Carpenter. Alongside the football, student must study on one of the core BTEC qualifications at Level 1, 2 or 3 (depending on entry grades). As well as this students will do the FA Level 1 Coaching Certificate.
Any student can apply for a place on the Football Development Academy (FDA) programme. Preferred football experience includes professional club involvement, county or district representation or a good club standard.
Students must have a suitable level of fitness to take this course. The FDA is not a stand alone course and must be taken alongside one of our full-time BTEC programmes.

Luke is a Sports Science graduate of Loughborough University. He is Team Leader for Sport at City College and also works part-time for the FA as a Coach Educator and for Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club as a Sports Masseur.
Former Brighton & Hove Albion, Fulham and Gillingham midfielder provides a wealth of experience.
With over 300 games for Brighton, the former Albion stopper coaches the team and does some specialist work with the keepers.
