Your rights and responsibilities
This summary outlines your rights and responsibilities as a Learner of City College Brighton and Hove, in accordance with our Code of Conduct.

Your rights:
You are entitled to receive from the College:
- The provision of a safe and secure working environment.
- Information and guidance to help you choose an appropriate learning programme.
- An informative introduction to the College and your course.
- A relevant and stimulating teaching programme.
- Regular assessment and reports on your progress, given to you within agreed timescales.
- Regular opportunities for you to comment on the course and the College in general.
- Appropriate resources (e.g. classrooms, laboratories, workshops, libraries, computers).
- The opportunity to join the Students’ Union, attend meetings and take part in their activities.
- A range of free support services, including counselling and advice on accommodation, careers, finance and welfare rights, including any financial assistance that may be available to you while you are here.
- A clear statement on the standards of conduct expected of you while you are here, tied to a fair and efficient handling of any complaint you make, any appeal against assessment and any disciplinary proceedings in which you are involved.
