We have a diverse range of vocational sports courses at all levels, which give students the opportunity to learn in a practical and applied environment.
Most of the courses and activities are run from our City College East campus, which benefits from excellent outdoor and indoor facilities – including full-size, all-weather and grass pitches, boxing ring, an indoor sports hall, dance studio and a gym.
Sports Courses in Brighton and Hove
There are a number of City College sports teams that compete locally and nationally in league and cup competitions, against other colleges. If you are a more recreational sportsperson, then there also a number of clubs and activities that are open to students of all abilities.
The department benefits from enthusiastic and experienced sports tutors, who have many links in the industry that will help graduates find employment in sport and leisure.
At City College we now offer a range of exciting opportunities for developing athletes to train at a high level in their chosen sport, whilst also studying to gain a core sports BTEC qualification through our academy system.
We offer this academy route for Football, Rugby, Boxing, Netball and Golf. On these courses coaching will be provided by a range of professional coaches at various facilities around the City including our brand new boxing facilities, Brighton and Hove Albion, Whitehawk F.C, Brighton Blues Rugby Club and Lindfield Golf Club.
