Travel and Tourism

The Travel and Tourism industry is one of the most exciting and vibrant in the world. You could be helping someone find their dream holiday, travelling the world as an air steward, helping people party in sunny locations as a holiday rep, or progressing through the ranks as a top manager. Our courses also equip you with the skills and confidence to pursue a career in many other fields should you discover that travel and tourism isn't necessarily for you.

Studying with us is fun - we go on study trips around the world, from New York to London, and practice using cabin simulators and our real-world travel bureau (serving holidays and flights to staff, students and the general public). If you are training as cabin crew you will wear professional uniform during your time with us. Our BTEC and vocational courses are practical in nature, so when you move into your career you will feel like you are well prepared and comfortable to meet the challenges you will face.

We have enthusiastic and experienced teachers who will be able to pass down their experience of the industry and this department has fantastic links with some of the largest travel companies in the world, including First Choice, Sevisair GlobeGround and Virgin Atlantic.

Centre of Vocational Excellence: Tourism

The Travel and Tourism department has been awarded CoVE status. CoVE, or ‘Centre of Vocational Excellence’, is a nationally recognised accreditation signifying that an area provides ‘specialised vocational training’. CoVEs are a partnership between colleges, private training providers, business partners, employer groups and local communities. They aim to produce appropriately qualified and skilled workers with excellent employment and career prospects that meet the needs of the local economy.

Our accredited centres work closely with business and industry to develop and deliver high quality, industry-relevant, specialist training courses across a range of new and traditional occupations.
