Courses for 14-16 years

BTEC Introductory Diploma in Construction (Level 1)

This course consists of an equal amount of theory and practical work. There’s a lot of maths and science involved.

NVQ1 Food Preparation and Cooking (Level 1)

This is a comprehensive two-year programme which will train you in a wide range of kitchen skills and food preparation techniques.

NVQ1 Hairdressing (Level 1)

This is a salon based course and will enable you to build skills and experience in this creative field.

City & Guilds Progression Award in Motor Vehicle Craft (Entry Level) Motor Vehicle Repair and Maintenance (Level 1)

These two-year programmes combines workshop and theory work enabling you to learn about servicing and repair.

CACHE Foundation Award in Caring for Children (Level 1)

After successful completion of the course you will have gained knowledge of skills needed in caring for children, and an overview of human growth & development. These skills will form a basis for further training in childcare.

Certificate in Air Cabin Crew Skills (Level 2)

This course will equip you with the skills needed to pursue a career in the airline industry. It is a level 2 course and therefore aimed at students who expect to achieve grades C and above at GCSE.

NVQ 1 Beauty Therapy (Level 1)

This course will provide you will the knowledge and skills to embark on a career in Beauty Therapy.

BTEC Introductory Certificate in Business, Retail and Administration (Level 1)

This course has been designed to introduce you to a wide range of business activities. You will also gain experience in a live contact centre.

Certificate in Engineering Technology VRQ (Level 1)

This course will give you the opportunity to explore a variety of engineering topics and using computer programmes to design a product.

BTEC Certificate in Public Services (Level 1)

You will receive an introduction to working within the public services in this hands-on/ practical course. It will also include visits and team-building activities.

BTEC Introductory Certificate in Sport and Leisure (Level 1)

This course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and experience to work within the Sport & Leisure industry.

BTEC Introductory Diploma in Hospitality, Travel and Tourism (Level 1)

This course will provide you with an insight into working in the Travel & Tourism industry. You will have the opportunity to experience the training facilities used by the Travel & Tourism trade, including a full-size mock aircraft.

Young Apprenticeship in Construction (Level 2)

This course will develop your skills and knowldege to start a career in the Construction industry. You will undertake practical work in various trades and also gain work experience. You will also receive visits from industry professionals.
