AAT Accounting Apprenticeships

AAT Accounting Apprenticeships in Brighton

 

Our AAT Accounting Apprenticeships offer practical, skills-based accounting qualifications that work for employees and employers alike. You can learn a variety of skills, from dealing with receipts and payments to preparing a trial balance and year end accounts, costing techniques, completing VAT returns and managing credit control procedures.
 


Duration: 12 Months

Start Date: September

Course Content: You will learn, develop and practice the skills required to work in a bookkeeping role which will include:

  • Working with manual and computerised bookkeeping systems
  • Prepare the learner up to the stage immediately prior to preparing final statements of account (profit and loss and balance sheet)
  • Conforming to general health and safety in the workplace Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Assessment: Assessment will be through a range of assessment techniques including workplace observations and the production of a portfolio of workplace evidence and knowledge. Progression: Following successful completion of the Apprenticeship you may want to further develop your skills by enrolling onto a Level 3 qualification.

Entry Requirements: To do this course you are required to have one of the following 5 GCSEs grade A – E to include English and Maths or an equivalent level 1 qualification in the same vocational subject.

Course Content: You will learn, develop and practice the skills required to work as a Junior Bookkeeper or Junior Accountant which will include:

  • Working with manual and computerised bookkeeping systems
  • Picks up from level 2 in as much as it enables students to prepare final accounts with the necessary adjustments (financial accounting)
  • Enables the student to perform some management accounting duties, principally relating to costing (working out what something will cost to make, before you make it so you can work out how much to charge when you factor in the profit requirement)
  • Conforming to general health and safety in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Assessment: Assessment will be through a range of assessment techniques including workplace observations and the production of a portfolio of workplace evidence and knowledge.

Progression: Following successful completion of the Apprenticeship you may want to further develop your skills by enrolling onto a Level 4 qualification.

Entry Requirements: To do this course you are required to have one of the following 5 GCSEs grade A – E to include English and Maths or an equivalent level 2 qualification in the same vocational subject.

Course Content: You will learn, develop and practice the skills required to work as a Bookkeeper or Accountant which will include:

  • Working with manual and computerised bookkeeping systems
  • Builds on both the financial accounting and management accounting skills that the student has learned on level 3 allowing a certain amount of specialisation
  • This highly regarded qualification allows you to work in senior roles within the industry
  • Conforming to general health and safety in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Assessment: Assessment will be through a range of assessment techniques including workplace observations and the production of a portfolio of workplace evidence and knowledge.

Progression: Following successful completion of the Apprenticeship you may want to further develop your skills within the Financial Services industry.

Entry Requirements: To do this course you are required to have one of the following 5 GCSEs grade A – E to include English and Maths or an equivalent level 2 qualification in the same vocational subject.
