Course aims:
This is in depth advanced level course will allow those with some pre-existing Photoshop skills to develop them to a higher level. Photoshop is the industry standard tool for digital designers and art-workers but is also perfect for anyone wishing to manipulate photos and images at home. You will learn how to use more advanced tools within Photoshop producing and editing images of a high quality and also how to add and manipulate text.
This course is aimed at the more advanced practitioners of Photoshop and is designed to enhance basic skills in the areas of image colour correction, composition, remedial work and final output techniques for both web and print.
It is also ideal if you wish to increase your skills and techniques in photo manipulation or for if you have digital imaging experience who need to develop an altogether different set of design techniques within the areas of digital imaging management.

You will be based at our City College Main Campus where we have extensive and excellent facilities for practical and theory work.
These include: state of the art Windows PC’s and Apple Macintosh’s with industry level software. Teaching and learning aids such as Smart Whiteboards, data projectors, personal City College email accounts, Virtual Learning Environment and personal online file storage space will compliment and aid student’s on the course.
Tutors:
Tutors assigned to this course will have experience in teaching a range of modelling software and many of them work in the digital media design industries.

Entry Requirements:
This is a complex software package and students wanting to take this course should be extremely comfortable with all aspects of using a Windows or Macintosh based computer and have some experience in design software.
Progression and links:
Students undertaking this course will be able to produce work that could contribute to an entry level graphic and illustration design course and may also help to contribute towards a portfolio of evidence at interview for other Further Education courses.
The completed projects from the course may also help to contribute towards a portfolio of evidence for interview for within industry.
