Course content:
This is an introductory-level course to help develop a knowledge and understanding about deafness. It relates to all of the following: deaf, deafened, deafblind, hard ofhearing, Deaf BSL users, Deaf visually impaired, blind hearing impaired and people with congenital deafblindness.

The course is for those who wish to acquire basic knowledge of how deafness and deafblindness affect communication. And learn about the basic skills to facilitate basic communication with deaf people.

The course describes what it means to be deaf, how being deaf affects one’s ability to operate in society, and what assistance is available to improve communication between deaf and hearing people.
