Course content:
This course is suitable both for beginners and those with a little experience. We will learn the skills to make beaded necklaces, bracelets and earrings and be introduced to wire work, making pendants, bangles and simple earring wires.
You will be able to experiment with precious metal clay which converts into fine silver when fired with a gas torch. After half term we will develop further by making jump rings, sawing and shaping sterling silver to make a flat panel ring and pairs of earrings, and using different media to make our own beads, including metal.
You’ll be encouraged to use your creativity and develop your skills to suit your learning needs and jewellery tastes. By the end of the course you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to design and make necklaces, bracelets, earrings, charms, pendants and beads.
You’ll be required to purchase an initial starter pack costing £10 plus for those who wish to experiment with precious metal clay there is an additional cost of approximately £22 (subject to cost of materials at time of purchase). Tools and materials are available to purchase from the tutor.
