Course aims:
This six week photography course will teach you how to manipulate every aspect of the photograph in a studio environment. The course will consider form, composition, and the effect of lighting modes to create mood and ambience.
Portrait and still life will be covered using both film and digital camera methods.
You'll learn how to set up flash lighting equipment and use essential studio equipment such as lightmeters and flash head attachments.

Assessment: No formal assessment is required for this course, however
during the course students will receive ongoing feedback through group and 1-1 tutoring about their assignment workbooks and presentations completed during the 6 weeks.

Entry Requirements:
Formal qualifications are not compulsory. A keen interest in digital camera practice and studio lighting techniques is required.
Progression and links:
Students undertaking this course will produce a body of work that could contribute towards a portfolio of evidence for other Further Education courses.
Portfolio images should show competence in film, digital and studio based practice which could assist in working within the photographic industry.
