Childcare and Early Years Education Apprenticeships

Childcare and Early Years Education Apprenticeships in Brighton

 

Whether you would like to work with children in a school, nursery, or in the community, we have an Apprenticeship to suit you.


Duration: 18 Months

Start Date: Roll-On/Roll-Off

Course Content: You will learn, develop and practice the skills required to work in the CYPW sector which will include:

  • Providing practical skills and knowledge for people who are working as a care worker, child minder, nursery nurse and youth community worker
  • Provide an awareness and understanding of the range of jobs in the CYPW sector
  • Working under supervision in the CYPW sector
  • Conforming to general health and safety in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Assessment: Assessment will be through a range of assessment techniques including workplace observations and the production of a portfolio of workplace evidence and knowledge.

Progression: Following successful completion of the Apprenticeship you may want to further develop your skills by enrolling onto a Level 3 qualification.

Entry Requirements: To do this course you are required to have one of the following 5 GCSEs grade A – E to include English and Maths or an equivalent level 1 qualification in the same vocational subject.

  • Develop the knowledge and understanding of working within a school setting
  • Develop knowledge in safeguarding, communication and understanding of the school context
  • Supporting pupils learning
  • Understanding of working directly with children and young people
  • Confirming to general health and safety in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Assessment: Assessment will be through a range of assessment techniques including workplace observations and the production of a portfolio of workplace evidence and knowledge.

Progression: Following successful completion of the Apprenticeship you may want to further develop your skills by enrolling onto a Teaching qualification.

Entry Requirements: To do this course you are required to have one of the following 5 GCSEs grade A E to include English and Maths or an equivalent level 2 qualification in the same vocational subject.

Course Content: You will learn, develop and practice the skills required to provide supervision and develop and practice selected skills required for progression within the sector which will include:

  • Providing practical skills and knowledge for people who are working as a care worker, child minder, nursery nurse and youth community worker
  • Provide an awareness and understanding of the range of jobs in the CYPW sector
  • Supervising teams within the CYPW sector
  • Conforming to general health and safety in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Assessment: Assessment will be through a range of assessment techniques including workplace observations and the production of a portfolio of workplace evidence and knowledge.

Progression: Following successful completion of the Apprenticeship you may want to further develop your skills by developing your skills in the CYPW sector.

Entry Requirements: To do this course you are required to have one of the following 5 GCSEs grade A – E to include English and Maths or an equivalent level 2 qualification in the same vocational subject.

Start Date: Roll-On/Roll-Off

Course Content: You will learn, develop and practice the skills required to work as an early year’s educator, child minder or nursery nurse which will include:

  • Develop the knowledge and Skills related to the specific job roles in Early Years Education
  • Support and promote children’s early education and development
  • Be able to make accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Safeguard and promote health and safety welfare of children
  • Work in partnership with colleagues, key workers, parents and/or carers and other professionals
  • Confirming to general health and safety in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Assessment: Assessment will be through a range of assessment techniques including workplace observations and the production of a portfolio of workplace evidence and knowledge.

Progression: Following successful completion of the Apprenticeship you may want to further develop your skills by enrolling onto a Childcare qualification.

Entry Requirements: To do this course you are required to have GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths. If you do not have this you will have to study for these exams as part of the course.
