IT & Computing Apprenticeships in Brighton

 

If you want an exciting and rewarding career in a fast-paced industry, an IT apprenticeship is a great starting point. You’ll get all the skills and experience you need - and get paid.


Duration: 18 Months

Start Date: Roll-On/Roll-Off

Course Content: You will learn, develop and practice the skills required to work in an IT environment which will include:

  • Technical fault diagnosis and analysis
  • Testing ICT systems
  • Software installation and upgrade
  • System operation and management
  • Presentation/spreadsheet/website/desktop publishing software
  • Windows/Cisco/MS/Comp TIA
  • Conforming to general health and safety in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Assessment: Assessment will be through a range of assessment techniques including work place observations and the production of a portfolio of workplace evidence and knowledge.

Progression: Following successful completion of the Apprenticeship you may want to further develop your skills by enrolling onto a Level 3 qualification.

Entry Requirements: To do this course you are required to have one of the following 5 GCSEs grade A – E to include English and Maths or an equivalent level 1 qualification in the same vocational subject.

  • Using the internet/email/mobile IT devices
  • Audio and Video software
  • Use of Excel and Word
  • Bespoke and specialist software
  • Conforming to general health and safety in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Assessment: Assessment will be through a range of assessment techniques including work place observations and the production of a portfolio of workplace evidence and knowledge.

Progression: Following successful completion of the Apprenticeship you may want to further develop your skills by enrolling onto a Level 3 qualification.

Entry Requirements: To do this course you are required to have one of the following 5 GCSEs grade A – E to include English and Maths or an equivalent level 1 qualification in the same vocational subject.

Course Content: You will learn, develop and practice the skills required to provide supervision and develop and practice selected skills required for progression within the sector which will include:

  • Technical advice and guidance and fault diagnosis
  • Remote support for products or services
  • Security and testing of ICT systems
  • Understanding a range of software options
  • Software installation and upgrade
  • IT project management
  • Conforming to general health and safety in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Assessment: Assessment will be through a range of assessment techniques including workplace observations and the production of a portfolio of workplace evidence and knowledge.

Progression: Following successful completion of the Apprenticeship you may want to further develop your skills within the IT sector.

Entry Requirements: To do this course you are required to have one of the following 5 GCSEs grade A – E to include English and Maths or an equivalent level 2 qualification in the same vocational subject.

  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Assessment: Assessment will be through a range of assessment techniques including workplace observations and the production of a portfolio of workplace evidence and knowledge.

Progression: Following successful completion of the Apprenticeship you may want to further develop your skills within the IT sector.
