The government has announced this week some very welcome changes in fee arrangements for our Adult Education courses.
These fee changes will be positive news to any student considering applying for an Adult (19+) co-funded qualification this Autumn.
Government policy introduced earlier this year stated that fee reductions for those in receipt of benefits would only apply to applicants who were unemployed and could show they were in receipt of either Job Seekers’ Allowance or Employment Seekers’ Allowance (WRAG).
The new rules announced this week now allow any adult who is unemployed and in receipt of a state benefit to enrol on a funded adult course and have their tuition fees paid for them.
To be eligible to have your tuition fees paid for you students will have to sign a self declaration form that states they are currently unemployed, in receipt of a state benefit, want to enter employment and need additional skills to do so. This declaration form would need to be signed at your enrolment session. Once we have a signed declaration form you can have your tuition fees paid for you.
If you are unemployed, in receipt of a state benefit and want to enter employment, you will not need to pay the tuition fees for your course. You will still need to pay the registration, examination and any materials fees for the course.
These changes will ensure you pay a heavily reduced fee than you may otherwise have been eligible.
Please note that this does not affect the full cost courses that are listed in our adult community learning section. Fee reductions only apply to those learners fee assessed as being home learners.
For further information about this you can contact our course advice team on 01273 667759 or email info@ccb.ac.uk
If you are aged 19-24 and wish to study GCSE English or Maths your tuition fees will now be waived. The only fees payable will be examination and registration fees.
