State-of-the-art facilities

Our students – both male and female - benefit from learning in a new state-of-the-art 11-car workshop, designed to meet the needs of the modern day service technician. The workshop offers MOT standard equipment such as a brake roller tester, rolling road dynamometer, tyre and engine bays, five ramps, modern IT facilities and an external valeting area.

Where you'll study

You'll be based at the City College East Campus near Brighton Marina which has great modern facilities and a friendly community atmosphere.

Employer Contacts

We have excellent industry contacts which mean that we can advise you on forthcoming employment opportunities and we are very proud that so many of our students go onto develop successful careers in the automotive industry. We’ve got current Level 3 students working successfully as a mechanics and former students working as Service Technicians in Caffyn’s. Another ex-student now works as a Technician here in our workshop! Already, half of our current Level 3 course students are working within the automotive industry.

It’s more than just cars!

Our students have enjoyed getting involved in fundraising activities such as valeting staff cars and offering maintenance checks to raise much needed funds for The Crew Club Youth Centre. Motor Vehicle students also work with the Sussex Scouts Fleet, offering free repairs and maintenance to the organisation's ambulances. Students enjoy hands-on experience of a variety of repair, refit and diagnostic jobs whilst doing their bit to keep the fleet of ambulances running for the benefit of the community. We also run free moped safety sessions on how to protect your moped against theft and offer go-karting prizes to students with the best attendance.

Further studies

After Level 3, you'll have the option afterwards to move on to university to improve your career prospects with a degree.
