Course aims:
The UK construction industry is constantly changing and developing the way it meets the challenges of creating the built environment and thats where it needs you!
This course will develop your basic skills and knowledge to start a career in the Construction industry as a carpenter/joiner.
You will learn about different aspects of site carpentry including: using hand tools, power tools, access equipment, building workplace relationships and Health and Safety requirements

Our specialist facilities at City College are excellent. We have life-size, realistic training environments, such as a scaffolding rig, workshops and large working areas. Our teaching team all have vast industry experience as well as many years of teaching, which has maintained our high standards, excellent pass rates and allowed us to produce graduates who have a high level of technical skill and confidence into the industry.
Assessment: Assessment is based on assignments completed through the year including core skills and an on line knowledge test.
