Course aims:
Are you interested in a career working within the Childcare industry or with children aged 0-7 years ?
Are you able to demonstrate that you have the ability to study at a high level necessary to complete this A level standard course?
This course will give you the skills and ability to work in Childcare setting as a Nursery nurse and be able to be left on your own with children and also the opportunity to develop further skills and attend Uni.
This is an excellent course which could also start your career in Teaching or Social Work if you should choose.
Course content:
This course is made up of 12 units of study, these all need to be completed and passed in order to achieve.
You will study subjects in the class room such as:
Facilities for students:
You will be placed in Childcare setting, where you will have up to 2 days a week contact with children, in order to develop your skills.
Tutors:
Your course is staffed with Early Years professionals who have worked in the sector and have a vast amount of experience.
Assessment: Units are assessed using an assignment or exam, for the assignment you are graded A* to E.
Professional practise is signed off by the placement supervisor.

Entry Requirements:
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or better or an equivalent level 2 qualification (eg BTEC or City & Guilds).
Interview for entry: Interview required
Progression and links:
After successfully completing the course you may wish to progress on to Higher education to complete Social work training, Nurse training or Teacher training.
Alternatively, you may wish to enter employment into the nursery industry as a nursery nurse after this course.
Or you can enter many other professional worlds, such as Schools, children’s centres, Nanning or even be a children’s holiday rep.
Work experience opportunities:

Free Study and Financial Support
All full time courses are free to EU residents who are under 19 years old on the 31st August 2012. The only fees you have to pay are for specialist resources and equipment and the cost of these varies from £25 to £300 depending upon the subject you are studying.
Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial help from the college's learner support funds. You should apply for financial support as soon as you receive your offer letter.
