Course aims:
Are you a caring person? Do you find yourself looking after others? Would you like to have a warm and rewarding career in health and social care?

This Level two qualification is a one year full time course for people who wish to expand there knowledge of the Health and Social Care industry.

This course will give you theory needed in class to then under take a college arranged Placement. These two aspects of study will then fully prepare for employment if wish to take those steps.

Assessment: Each unit has an end assignment which needs to be completed and passed in order to achieve the qualification.

Awarding Body: Edexcel

Entry Requirements:
Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grades E or better or an equivalent level 1 qualification (eg BTEC or City & Guilds).

Progression and links:
Once you have completed this Diploma you may gain employment as a Carer within the industry. This course be as a Care assistant, Home Carer, Youth Worker to name a few possibilities.

You may wish to develop your skills to an advanced level on the Level 3 Diploma/

Work experience opportunities:
Unit 3 is all about your work experienced, which is arranged for term two and three for days when you are not in college.

Free Study and Financial Support

All full time courses are free to EU residents who are under 19 years old on the 31st August 2012. The only fees you have to pay are for specialist resources and equipment and the cost of these varies from £25 to £300 depending upon the subject you are studying.

Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial help from the college's learner support funds. You should apply for financial support as soon as you receive your offer letter.
