Course aims:
This course is aimed at 16-18 year olds and will give you the opportunity to develop some new skills in the world of sport and leisure. If you haven’t had a good recent experience with education this could be a great way to get back involved with training.
On the course you will be taking part in football and other leisure activities as well as learning about the importance of health and fitness. Alongside this you will study language and number skills as well as learning to develop skills for employment in the future.
This course has plenty of practical areas to get involved in as well as written work to complete. You will be supported throughout the course by tutors experienced in helping young people fulfil their potential.

Facilities for students:
All learners will be able to use the colleges facilities such as library and computers and be able to participate in College enrichment activities.
Students will be able to use football pitches, access Stanley Deason leisure centre and the College Gym.
Tutors:
Your tutors are all experienced in working with young people and ensuring that during the course you reach your potential.
Course Commitment: You will be expected to complete your projects and attend your lessons.
Assessment: Your course will be assesed entirely on the coursework you complete throught the 18 weeks.

Entry Requirements:
5 GCSE's grade G or an Entry Level qualification or suitability at interview.
Progression and links:
After the course you will be more employable having learnt a new range of skills or you may wish to continue on to a full time Level 1 or 2 course in September 2011.

Free Study and Financial Support
All full time courses are free to EU residents who are under 19 years old on the 31st August 2012. The only fees you have to pay are for specialist resources and equipment and the cost of these varies from £25 to £300 depending upon the subject you are studying.
Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for financial help from the college's learner support funds. You should apply for financial support as soon as you receive your offer letter.
