Health & Social Care Apprenticeships in Brighton

 

Our Health and Social Care Apprenticeships provide learners with the knowledge and skills needed to work in a variety of health and social care settings. From helping people with a particular need to providing vital assistance to healthcare professionals in the care of patients.


Duration: 18 Months

Start Date: Roll-On/Roll-Off

Course Content: You will learn, develop and practice the skills required to work in a range of social care organisations which will include:

  • Principles of safeguarding vulnerable adults
  • The role and duty of care required to work in adult social care
  • Person-centred practice and promoting rights, choices and the integration of vulnerable individuals within society
  • Demonstrating personal care such as washing, dressing and bathing
  • Understanding mental health and dementia problems
  • Supporting individuals to eat and drink
  • Principles of the causes of infection
  • Conforming to general health and safety in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Assessment: Assessment will be through a range of assessment techniques including workplace observations and the production of a portfolio of workplace evidence and knowledge.

Progression: Following successful completion of the Apprenticeship you may want to further develop your skills by enrolling onto a Level 3 Health and Social Care Course.

Entry Requirements: To do this course you are required to have one of the following 5 GCSEs grade A E to include English and Maths or an equivalent level 2 qualification in the same vocational subject.

Duration: 24 Months

Start Date: Roll-On/Roll-Off

Course Content: You will learn, develop and practice the supervisory skills required to work in a range of social care organisations which will include:

  • Principles of safeguarding vulnerable adults
  • Understanding person-centred approaches
  • Handling information and the principles of communication in adult care settings
  • Administration of medication and monitoring the effects
  • Understanding the context and support needs of those with learning disabilities
  • Contribute to effective team working and co-ordination of activities
  • Awareness of issues such as sensory loss, models of disability, stroke awareness, end of life and advance care planning
  • Conforming to general health and safety in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Assessment: Assessment will be through a range of assessment techniques including workplace observations and the production of a portfolio of workplace evidence and knowledge.

Progression: Following successful completion of the Apprenticeship you may want to further develop your skills by enrolling onto a Level 5 Health and Social Care Course.

  • Managing practice to ensure positive outcomes
  • Safeguarding and protection of vulnerable adults
  • Leading person-centred practice
  • Assess the individual in a health and social care setting
  • Lead and manage a team
  • Develop professional supervision
  • Dealing with concerns and complaints
  • Lead and manage CQC inspections
  • Conforming to general health and safety in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

Assessment: Assessment will be through a range of assessment techniques including workplace observations and the production of a portfolio of workplace evidence and knowledge.

Progression: Following successful completion of the Apprenticeship you may want to further develop your skills by within the Health and Social Care sector.
