How to Apply for a Part-time or Short College Course
- Find the subject and level of course you would like to study using the online course search or by using the index in the prospectus.
- Study the extended Course Information online for your chosen course or contact City College to get a hard copy. This will explain how much financial and personal commitment will be required to pass the course.
- Contact our Guidance and Admissions team if you need help to choose the right course for you.
- Read the information on College Fees and Financial Assistance - if you think you are entitled to fee remission or wish to apply for financial assistance please contact City College prior to enrolling.
- Complete an application form, and either send it to us by post or drop it in at the College Enrolment Centre. A tutor from the course area will read your application and you will receive an acknowledgement letter within 2 weeks. You can also apply for some of our courses online by clicking the online course application button on the course description page.
- Interview - some courses will require an interview to take place before enrolment. You will be invited to City College for an interview with the course co-ordinator where we will discuss with you whether the course is suitable for you.
- Confirm - within 2 weeks we will confirm to you the outcome of our discussion/your application. If you wish to check the progress of your application please call 01273 667788 and ask to be put through to the Centre that deals with your subject.
- Enrol - once you are accepted onto a course you will be issued with an offer letter containing information on how to enrol, which must be done in person at City College. You need to bring with you your offer letter with you in order to enrol. You will be asked to sign a Learning Agreement and will be required to pay course fees. On your first day of your new course you will need to show your tutor your learning agreement and fee receipts.
- Welcome - once you join your course you will receive further information about the college to help you start with confidence and ease.
