Gain access to junior accounting roles, improve your accounting skills or take a step closer to qualifying as an accountant with this course. With both classroom based and self-directed learning online, this course allows you to study at your own pace to suit your personal circumstances.
You will learn effective manual and computerised bookkeeping, management accounting and work skills to enable you manage company accounts or apply for roles such as accounts administrator, purchase/sales ledger clerk or trainee finance assistant.

Students are encouraged to make full use of the college’s excellent Library and refectory facilities and to make use of the virtual learning environment which can be accessed on-line.
This Level 2 course is taught by a dedicated team of lecturers who are also professional accountants with substantial experience of successfully delivering AAT courses.
Assessment: The AAT units are assessed by a combination of formal exams, skills tests and project work some of which may be completed on computer.

Successful students may wish to consider progressing to a Level 3 Apprenticeship, Business Level 3, Estate Agency Level 3 or to a 19+ AAT Level 3 Diploma course.
There is a high demand for competent accounting professionals within a wide range of business and non-profit making organisations at all levels, both full-time and part-time as well as opportunities to become self-employed providing accounting services. An AAT qualification gives an advantage when seeking a new position.
Work experience opportunities:
All students must complete a work experience placement as part of their course prgoramme and students are required to arrange the placement themselves ( information will be given prior to starting the course).
