Course aims:
On this exciting, advanced course, you will learn how to professionally administer therapies such as Swedish Body Massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy. There is a strong theoretical element including anatomy and physiology, health and safety, healthy lifestyle and business practice. A weekly minimum of 4-5 hours home study is required plus substantial additional hours for practical home case studies (approx. 200 hrs). This qualification is appropriate for learners wishing for a career in the industry or in a self-employed capacity. This course is assessed through practical work, written assignments, portfolio work, case studies, external and internal examinations.

Course content:
The course consists of the following units:

A variety of teaching and learning methods are used including lecture, demonstration, individual project work group work and discussion.

Facilities for students:
The college has excellent facilities for both theory and practical work.
These include 3 large well-equipped and recently modernised Beauty/Holistic salons and a large reception area that serves both Hair and Beauty.

The Beauty and Holistic Department is managed by Georgia Christoforou, a highly skilled Beauty and Holistic Therapist and an enthusiastic and experienced teacher.
The Beauty and Holistic team is staffed by highly motivated tutors that are passionate about their subjects and have excellent links with employers.

Assessment: Written Assignments, Written and Practical Assessments, Case Studies Portfolios & Research work, external written examinations.

Entry Requirements:
An interview is required and candidates must have a good standard of written English and be able to devote sufficient time to the course at home, as home study is essential. Punctuality and good attendance is also required.

This qualification enables the therapist to work in industry as a therapist, a manager or clinic owner.

Category 1: If you will be aged 19-23 when your course begins and are studying towards your first full Level 2 or 3 course, you will not have to pay any fees.

Category 2: If you will be aged 19 or over when your course begins, studying at Level 2 or below, AND are unemployed AND claiming benefits AND completing the course to improve your employability, you will not have to pay any fees.

Category 3: If you are aged 19 or over when your course begins, studying at Level 2 or below and do not fall into categories 1 or 2, you will need to pay a subsidised fee.

Category 4: If you are aged 19 or over when your course begins and are studying at Level 3 or above and do not fall into category 1, you will need to pay the whole fee yourself or you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan.
