Course aims:
This computerised accounting course is an opportunity for you to acquire basic skills in computerised accounting on the popular and widely used Sage Line 50 accounting system.
You’ll cover a range of accounting areas such as inputting payments and receipts, creating invoices and operating sales and purchase ledgers.
These computerised accounting skills will increase your employability and are also an excellent skill to have if you are working for yourself or starting a business.

Students are encouraged to make full use of the college’s excellent Library and refectory facilities and to make use of the virtual learning environment which can be accessed on-line. The library has a large number of computers available for student use out of class.
Tutors:
This level 2 course is taught by a professional accountant with substantial experience of successfully delivering computerised accounting courses.
Assessment: This course is assessed by an examination set by City and Guilds.

Entry Requirements:
Students joining the Level 2 computerised book-keeping course are not required to have any previous experience of book-keeping or accounting. However, an aptitude for working with numbers is an advantage and some experience of using a computer will be assumed.

Successful students way wish to consider progression to the City and Guilds Level 3 computerised accounting course or the AAT level 3 Diploma course at City College.
Many organisations keep their accounting records using computer systems. Sage Line 50 is one of the most common systems used by small and medium sized businesses and non-profit making organisations.
Work experience opportunities:
No provision is made for providing work experience while on this course.

The cost of these courses are split into 3 categories. Category 1: If you are aged between 19-23 years and are studying at the level of your chosen course for the first time. This applies to Level 1, 2 and 3 courses. If this is your first level 3 course, the upper age limit is 24. Category 2: If you are in receipt of a 'work- related' benefit such as Job Seekers Allowance, or that you can self-certify (sign a form) that you are actively seeking work. Category 3: if you do not sit within Categories 1 or 2, this will be the cost you will need to pay for your course.
