Course aims:
This course is aimed at the over 19s who want or need to improve their skills in written communication and effective reading.
We work in small groups with a supportive atmosphere and encourage discussion and teamwork. Feedback shows that students enjoy our classes, and many have commented on a new-found confidence in English through completing the course.
At the end of your time with us you will take a nationally recognised qualification which can improve job prospects or allow you to progress on to other college courses.

Tutors:
Julia Tindle and Karen Wyatt are our main English teachers. Both are highly qualified and experienced in dealing with learners who are over 19.
Assessment: All learners will either take an on-line National test at Level 1 or 2 (equivalents to GCSE) or Entry tests in the classroom at Entry 1, 2 or 3.
Awarding Body: Edexcel
Interview for entry: Interview required

Level 2 national test is often accepted as an alternative to GCSE English when applying for other courses. Please check with Admissions Tutors.
