On this professional course you’ll learn to appreciate the nature of health and safety in terms of good standards, work-related accidents, be given an understanding of the different factors that can affect health and safety and the importance of risk assessment in maintaining a safe environment.

Assessment: This course is assessed by a multiple choice question paper consisting of 30 questions. Successful completion requires a minimum of 20 correct answers.

There are no formal entry requirements.
Progression and links:
The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification is recognised by most industries and the Health and Safety Inspectorate. It provides a basis for more advanced studies in Health and Safety, and will prove useful in securing employment.
