Course aims:
The Advanced Interior Design Course will provide you an experience of Interior and Space Design that is rigorous, motivating and challenging obtained from realistic client briefs and scenarios that will capture your imagination and creativity. On the course you’ll develop your existing interior design knowledge and skills to a professional level with emphasis on technical skills, methodical and analytical manipulation of space to produce a substantial portfolio of design work.
There will be the opportunity develop your visual and conceptual awareness, research and analysis, evaluation and critical judgment. You’ll also develop essential communication and presentation skills that will be key for working in the industry.
Please note: While an ability to draw freehand is not a prerequisite for being accepted on the course, you will be required to explore different ways of drawing and model making to communicate your design ideas. The course does not solely focus on fabrics and decoration, but there are elements of this within each project.

Entry Requirements:
Successful completion of the Intermediate Interior design or equivalent experience demonstrated by means of a portfolio at interview. You will need to purchase your own artist materials and equipment.
You may be set a small piece of preparatory work to take to the first session.

Course could provide experience to progress onto Higher Education courses. Successful previous students have gone on to study:
University of Brighton, Interior Architecture BA(hons), Northbrook, HND Spatial Design, London Metropole, Interior Design BA(hons), Interior Design diploma at KLC. Other students have gained entry onto Interior design course in Germany, Poland and Spain,
A number of students have gone freelance and set up their own interior design consultancies.
Work experience opportunities:
Time is not allocated for work experience, but students wishing to peruse a career with in interior design are encouraged to gain work experience.
Previous students have gained experience as the Designers Guild and for small local interior designers.
