Course aims:
The Intermediate Interior Design Course will develop your basic knowledge and skills of Interior Design to a more professional level. The course will enhance your ability to design living spaces and to present your ideas and design solutions creatively.
You’ll discover various design principles of how a space can be used and develop an understanding of different 3D representation techniques, such as model making and perspective drawing.
There will also be an opportunity to practice your drawing skills, including technical, freehand drawing and 3D representation.
By the end of the course you’ll be able to produce a clear and concise design package in accordance with industry standards and specifications.
Throughout the course you will build a sketchbook, demonstrating the development of your ideas, and a portfolio of design work including a range of different projects.
Please note: While an ability to draw freehand is not a prerequisite for being accepted on the course, you will be required to explore different ways of drawing (sketching, freehand drawing and technical drawing) and model making to communicate your design ideas. The course does not solely focus on fabrics and decoration, but there are elements of this within each project.

A creative approach, commitment and an enthusiasm for interior Design is essential.
Successful completion of the Introduction to interior Design course.

Course will provide experience to progress onto the Advanced Interior Design – Level 3 NCFE Course (FC0338)
This course alone will not guarantee progression into higher education, but the qualification will aid students wanting to apply for HE or Interior Design jobs after completion of the Advance Interior Design Course.
Work experience opportunities:
Time is not allocated for work experience, but students wishing to pursue a career with in interior design are encouraged to gain work experience.
Previous students have gained experience as the Designers Guild and for small local interior designers.
