Course aims:
Are you a supervisor or team leader or have aspirations to move into team leading ? This course offers an excellent foundation for formal development and when successfully completed will provide you with a nationally recognised certificate in team leading.

Course content:
On the course you’ll develop as a team leader and learn how to motivate your work team as well as plan and monitor the workload and other aspects of the role.

Facilities for students:
Library facilities contain associated books and course text books as well as computers if required.

Tutors:
All out tutors are qualified trainers in their associated fields.

Assessment: The mandatory units will be assessed by a management report.

Other units will be assessed by a range of methods e.g. reflective review, presentations, role-plays and short reports.

Entry Requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements. You will be expected to have basic levels of literacy and numeracy. As the course is work based, you will be expected to access a workplace in order to complete all the assessments.

Interview for entry: Interview required

Pre-entry preparation:
You should ensure you have access to supervisory management experience for the duration of the course. Reading articles about management and business would be helpful.

Progression and links:
The Level 2 Certificate in team leading aims to give practicing and potential supervisors the foundation for formal development and provide a nationally recognised award in first line management. Successful students may wish to progress to further qualifications such as the ILM level 3 Certificatein First Line Management

With this well recognised qualification you would be able to enter or progress within leadership or management within a range of organisations.

The cost of these courses are split into 3 categories. Category 1: If you are aged between 19-23 years and are studying at the level of your chosen course for the first time. This applies to Level 1, 2 and 3 courses. If this is your first level 3 course, the upper age limit is 24. Category 2: If you are in receipt of a 'work- related' benefit such as Job Seekers Allowance, or that you can self-certify (sign a form) that you are actively seeking work. Category 3: if you do not sit within Categories 1 or 2, this will be the cost you will need to pay for your course.
