Course aims:
This course will help you to develop your web design and programming skills by giving you a grounding in the web language PHP.
PHP is a server side scripting language developed by the Open Source Community to produce applications such as online shopping carts where websites are subject to constant changes.
Many commercial web sites use PHP and this course will develop your skills in PHP programming and demonstrate how PHP can be used to interact with a backend database such as MySql.
You will need to have a USB memory device onto which you will be shown how to install an HTTP server and MySQL database server. a device with 500MB free space will be adequate.

You will learn in a well equipped workshop using networked Windows PCs. You will be able to interact with our Web Based learning tool (Moodle) and have access to an Internet accessible storage.
