Entry level programmes are a great way to enter education. You may have, for whatever reason, been unsuccesful in your GCSEs, or found that school wasn't quite the right learning environment for you. Whatever your reasons, or needs, we have two Entry Level programmes so that you can continue in education or find employment.
Whichever course is the right one for you - we will offer support, understanding and a fun and engaging time at College.
Students on this course are generally aged 16-19. You might have a moderate learning difficulty, such as dyslexia, or general difficulties with reading and writing, have Autism or Aspergers syndrome, behavioural difficulties (such as ADHD or EBD). You might have been home-educated, or might not have achieved their potential at GCSE and need a stepping stone to a Level 1 course.
Students get the chance to study two vocational options each year. The options might be from:
All students have to do Literacy, Numeracy and IT as part of the course. There are a variety of other classes that will help gain confidence, work in a team, and improve skills.
Students who come on this course should be prepared to take part in all classes and be able to cope with the rules and expectations of College life.
All students have an interview with the Tutor, and will take an Initial Assessment to make sure they are suitable for the course.
This course is a 2 year vocationally based course and is designed to help students progress to a Level 1 course or to go straight into employment. Higher achieving students may complete the course in 1 year.
This two-year course is for students aged 16 – 22, who might have a moderate learning difficulty or disability, such as Dyslexia, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and those who need more support with independence skills.
Students on this course receive a high-level of support, aimed at increasing academic, social and independence skills.
All students study Literacy, Numeracy and IT and must have some basic skills to enable them to gain an Entry 1 level qualification.

All students are interviewed by the Tutor and will have an assessment to ensure suitability for the course.
Students are expected to have some independent skills and be able to cope within the main college environment.
