Are you aged 18-24 and receiving Jobseekers Allowance for 6 months or more?
City College has teamed up with the Job Centre and are offering FREE 2-Week courses designed to give the edge when entering the job market.
The courses coming up in autumn are:
Construction:
Develop skills in:
- Carpentry
- Fixing
- Plasterboard
- Wall Tiling
- Basic Brickwork
This package includes the completion of the CSCS card that will enable you to work on site.
Hospitality and Catering:
Develop skills in:
- Customer Service
- Basic kitchen techniques
- Health and Safety (including a recognised qualification)
- Emergency First Aid (including a recognised qualification)
- Food and drink service
- Healthy eating/Balanced diet
- Effective teamwork
This package includes Food Safety CIEH Level 2 certificate.
Retail
Develop your skills:
- Customer Service
- Communication skills
- Product knowledge
- Selling skills
- Health and Safety (including a recognised qualification)
- Emergency First Aid (including a recognised qualification)
- Personal effectiveness and teamwork.
Contact Centre-based Customer Service
Develop your skills in:
- Questioning and listening techniques
- Dealing with difficult customers
- Rapport building
- Needs-based selling
- Communication skills
All courses include support in interview skills and CV writing, alongside one-to-one assistance in applying for jobs and information on upcoming vacancies.
They are primarily practical, and developed to work around your learning needs to give you the best chance of success.
