For many of us, the current economic climate is causing unique pressures. A recession can be a time of great stress and you may find yourself out of work or ill-equipped to adapt to the changing job market. But there are opportunities out there and there is a demand for new employees - and we can help you win those jobs with the right training and support.

If you’re currently claiming Jobseekers Allowance (JSA), City College is offering a range of free short courses that will give you the edge with employers. SHINE courses will provide you with the industry-recognised certificates that employers are looking for and there’s also ‘employability skills’ training provided to complement what you’ve learnt on your course.

How do I get on a course?

If you claim Jobseekers Allowance, these courses are free so please speak to your Jobcentre Plus advisor and book onto our regular Wednesday advice sessions at City College.
