Students on this course are generally aged 16-18 and might need a supported course for a number of reasons. This might be a moderate learning difficulty such as dyslexia, Asperger’s syndrome or for a student who might not have achieved potential at GCSE and needs a stepping stone to a specific Level 1 or Level 2 course. You might also be undecided about what subject to study and might like the idea of the vocational options.
This is a 1 year course that offers a variety of classes to help gain confidence, work in a team, develop independent study and improve skills. All students have the opportunity to study 2 different vocational subjects as part of their course. All students have to do English, Maths and ICT Functional Skills.
Students who come on this course should be prepared to take part in all classes and be able to cope with the rules and expectations of College life. All students will take an Initial Assessment and have an interview with the Tutor, to make sure they are suitable for the course.
