Meet the City Business Team

Corrine Baker,
Director for Business Skills and Standards

Corrine is Director of City Business Skills and Standards. Corrine’s main responsibilities are to provide leadership and management of City Business Skills, whilst marketing the College’s business portfolio and improving employer engagement, responsiveness and satisfaction.

Corrine Baker has a background of working in the public & private sector and has run her own business. She is experienced in working directly with employers of all sizes helping them to assess future business needs and the needs of their employees. She has worked on economic regeneration projects with businesses, educational providers and local councils and community organisations.

Nirvana Mahmoudi,
Business Development Leader

Nirvana’s primary role as Business Development Leader is to engage with employers and to perform ‘Organisational Needs Analysis’ for local businesses, visiting them and designing bespoke training plans to suit their needs. Nirvana raises awareness of City College training courses and facilities, advising local businesses so that they can get the maximum benefit from the resources we offer.

Nirvana is a graduate of Computing and Information Technology. Nirvana has spent most of her time in Recruitment, mainly within the Finance and IT sector. In 2004 she became a freelance recruiter for a large financial company based in the US, making them a saving of over $120,000 in recruitment fees. She has also run a number of interview and assessment centre workshops for the University of Brighton’s industrial placement students.
