Accommodation & Transport for International Students

 

Accomodation

We understand that your accommodation is an important part of your stay and that you should be happy and comfortable with whatever choice you make.

All of our accommodation is thoroughly checked and monitored in accordance with the standards set out in the British Council’s Accreditation UK Scheme. We visit each of our hosts and we aim to place you in a homestay that suits your needs.

We offer three accommodation options for students;

  1. Half-board homestay accommodation
  2. Self-catering private home
  3. Self-catering student house

Half-board Homestay

Homestay will give you the perfect introduction to life in the UK and will help you to improve your English much faster. You will immerse yourself in a local household and learn about British culture in a welcoming and comfortable environment.

COST:
SINGLE ROOM: £150 per week
TWIN ROOM: £130 per week (please note this is only available for two people arriving together)

Self-catering Private Home

Self-catering residential is a great option for students who wish to live in a British home but want more independence. You can enjoy the company of your host and other people in the house but will have the freedom to buy and cook your own meals.

COST:
SINGLE ROOM: £120 per week
TWIN ROOM: £110 per week (please note this is only available for two people arriving together)


Self-catering Student House

A self-catering student house is a great option if you want to be independent and share a house with other international students. All our student houses are conveniently located within either walking distance of the school or a short bus ride. There is a large supermarket and there are plenty of convenient stores, restaurants and cafeterias in the nearby area.

COST:
SINGLE ROOM: £175 per week
DAMAGE DEPOSIT: £150 (refundable upon departure)

A £50 ACCOMMODATION FINDING FEE WILL BE CHARGED TO EACH BOOKING.
In all types of accommodation bed linen is provided. Towels are provided in homestay and self-catered private homes but not in the student house.

Transport

We offer a transfer service to collect you from the airport upon arrival. City College uses a reliable local taxi service; one of the drivers will be waiting for you in the arrivals lounge holding a sign with your name on it, ready to take you to your accommodation.

To request a taxi transfer, please include your full flight information on your application form at least two weeks in advance of your arrival date.

COST FROM LONDON GATWICK: £60

COST FROM LONDON HEATHROW: £105

COST FROM STANSTED OR LUTON: £150

If you wish to travel independently, you can travel by train or coach from all London airports to Brighton. Gatwick airport is the nearest one to Brighton

TRAVELLING FROM LONDON HEATHROW AIRPORT:
National Express coaches travel to Brighton from all terminals. It takes about 2.5 hours to reach Brighton and a one-way ticket costs approximately £30.

TRAVELLING FROM LONDON GATWICK AIRPORT:
Trains run regularly from Gatwick airport to Brighton. It takes about 30 minutes and a one-way ticket costs approximately £10.

National Express coaches travel to Brighton from both terminals. It takes about 45 minutes to reach Brighton and a one-way ticket costs approximately £9.

TRAVELLING FROM LONDON STANSTED AIRPORT:
National Express coaches travel to Brighton from the airport. It takes about 4 hours to reach Brighton and a one-way ticket costs approximately £45.

When you arrive at Brighton train or coach station, we would suggest that you get a taxi to your accommodation. Official taxis are white and green and will be available at both stations.
