The programme gives you the opportunity to develop the essential skills and knowledge you will need in your Masters course.
You have the option of a one semester certificate (12 weeks) or a two semester diploma (24 weeks) depending on your English language level. Both of these allow you to:
- Specialise in a subject of your choice
- Improve your academic English for successful study at masters level
- Familiarise yourself with studying in the UK
- Study at postgraduate level and gain a recognised qualification
Who needs to take a Pre-masters course?
- If your undergraduate qualifications do not meet the level required for postgraduate study.
- If you wish to take a Masters in a subject that is different from your undergraduate degree.
- If you need to improve your study skills and use of academic English.
What is the course content?
The subject specialism modules allow you to improve your knowledge of the subject you intend to study at masters level and give you the experience in studying and working with British students.

You are free to choose your subject modules from a wide range of options from the College's higher education modular programme. Your choice will normally be made based on your interests and future field of study.
