Brighton is a great place to be a student. We are located in the heart of one of the UK’s most popular cities just 50 minutes by train from central London and within easy reach of the major airports of Gatwick and Heathrow.
Brighton is often known as “London-by-the-sea”, due to it having the vibrancy and facilities of the capital but located in a beautiful seaside location and within 10 minutes of the stunning countryside of the South Downs.
Although the weather in Brighton (like the rest of Britain) is variable, Sussex enjoys more hours of sunshine annually than anywhere else in the UK. Average daytime temperatures range from 5-10C in winter, to 20-25C in summer.
The city is renowned for its art & cultural scene. There are theatres, cinemas, art galleries, museums and the largest arts festival in England. Brighton is considered to be one of the best cities for nightlife and is associated with musicians and bands, many of whom perform live in the city’s 300 pubs and nightclubs.
Brighton is a shoppers paradise. From the jewellery and small independent shops of The Lanes to the unique shops of Hove; the chic boutiques of the North Laine to the big-name stores of Churchill Square and Brighton Marina there is something for everyone. With over 400 restaurants (more per resident than anywhere outside London) there is plenty of choice from very fine dining to cheaper options for the more budget-conscious.
With all that the city has to offer, it is no surprise that, according to a recent study Brighton is the happiest place to live in the country, with nearly 94% of residents saying they have a happy home!
