Catering students at City College will play host to 120 primary and junior pupils to cook up healthy feasts on 27th and 28th of April.
The pupils from four of the city's schools will visit the College to prepare a Friend Ship Feast as part of a national project which grew out of work in Liverpool during its bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2008. The feasts aim to encourage the children to try a wider range of healthy, tasty food as part of the battle against rising levels of childhood obesity.

The City College students will help the children prepare a delicious meal, including pepper, avocado and asparagus sushi, butternut squash ravioli and plaice goujons. Once all the hard work is done, they will all sit down to sample their handiwork. The schools taking part are St Joseph's RC Primary, Hertford Juniors, Moulsecoomb Primary and St Mark's CE Primary.
The national Friend Ship project aims to promote understanding between young people, to celebrate cultural and social diversity and to use culture as a way of promoting community and city cohesion. The feast workshops will be managed by Brighton Fringe Arts Production and the city council.
The Friend Ship project is supported by Liverpool 08, Brighton & Hove City Council and Brighton & Hove Arts Commission. The Friend Ship Feast is also supported by Say Ahh ? the Arts and Health partnership in Brighton & Hove.
