13 February 2009

Research by student accommodation website accommodationforstudents.com has identified the best places to be a student, based on more than 38,000 student reviews from 66 university towns.

Brighton and Hove got the top score of 62%, placing it above popular student cities such as Sheffield, Newcastle, Manchester, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Exeter.

In their reviews, students rated their university location out of ten using the five criteria of going out, facilities, shops, transport links and community.

Phil Frier, Principal of City College Brighton and Hove, says:

"There’s always been a strong impression that students absolutely love living in Brighton so this research simply confirms what we’ve always known. At City College, we feel particularly privileged that our main campus is based in North Laine, arguably the most vibrant part of the city. I hope that this news will help increase awareness of Brighton amongst potential students and that they’ll look into all the opportunities available to them here at City College."
