Cherie Blair had a cookery lesson at this week's Labour Party Conference in Brighton under the supervision of trainee chefs Adrian Butcher and Nathan Brewer from City College Brighton and Hove. Adrian and Nathan encouraged Mrs. Blair to don an apron and create delicious desserts and pastries.
The Learning and Skills Council (LSC), the body that exists to make England better skilled and more competitive, arranged for trainee chefs from City College to be available at the conference to give MPs and delegates a taste of on-the-job training.

Catering Lecturer Richard Hook says:
'It was a really great experience for the students. Cherie was really kind and interested in their studies and keen to know about their progress and where they're going when they finish their course at Christmas. We had hundreds of people coming up to us and taking an interest in what we're doing in the College's catering department so being involved in the Conference was tremendous.'
