City College Students Organise Charity 'Massage-athon'

3 March 2005

In the spirit of goodwill that has swept the nation since the tsunami disaster, City College Brighton and Hove students have come up with a unique way of raising money for charity on Thursday, March 17th. Holistic Therapies students have organised a charity 'massage-athon' at Pelham Tower, Pelham Street, Brighton. Members of the public will be indulged with specialist treatments such as Swedish massage, Reflexology and Indian Head massage. All proceeds will go directly to ActionAid. The students are also using the massage-athon to raise awareness of the global 'Make Poverty History' campaign.

In a relaxing, comfortable and professional environment, customers can expect a thorough and professional treatment for a third of what they might pay in a salon, knowing that the money they spend will be going to a very worthy cause. The range of treatments will be offered at the bargain price of £5 for 20 minutes to £10 for 40 minutes. Any further donations are welcome. Approximately thirty therapists will be on call to ease the stresses and strains of a busy week. The doors open at 9.30am on 17th March and the massage-athon will run all day until 8pm.

Notes to Editors: Swedish massage soothes away the stresses of the week and energises you with a deep-tissue, body treatment. The healing art of reflexology helps your body to heal itself, so it's ideal for any of those niggling problems. Indian head massage will get the blood flowing and pick you up after a hard day's work, or you can treat yourself to a truly pampering neck, shoulders and face massage. Oils for the massage-athon have kindly been supplied by Bayhouse Aromatics, Brighton.
