City College’s ’50 in 5’ campaign smashes target

21 March 2016

City College’s ’50 in 5’ campaign which aimed to encourage local employers to make an overall total of 50 pledges to take on an apprentice during Apprenticeship Week has smashed its target with a total of 70 pledges being made across a wide range of local employers. This includes 3 new Apprenticeship vacancies at Brighton & Hove City Council who have additionally pledged to provide 40 existing staff with Apprenticeship qualifications.

50 in 5 was linked with the College’s support of the Greater Brighton 1,000 apprenticeships in 1,000 days campaign led by the Employer Skills Task Force. Formed from over 30 leading businesses and education providers in and around Brighton & Hove including City College, the Task Force was set up in September to tackle local skills shortages.
