Hairdressing students from City College Brighton and Hove have organised a charity event at Venus Hairdressing Salon in Brighton to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The event, which starts at 5pm on Tuesday November 10th, will include complimentary blow-dries, live sponsored colour changes, wine/soft drinks, a raffle/lucky dip, food and music. The event has been organised as part of College's Week, a national initiative to celebrate the role that Further Education Colleges have in providing people with the skills and opportunities to succeed as well as the contribution Colleges make to local communities.
City College Principal Phil Frier says:

'Events like this are fantastic for students because not only do they get a great sense of achievement in raising money for an important cause, they also get some hands-on practical and organisational experience which will put them in good stead for their future careers. With events like this going on across the country, I think Colleges Week is an ideal way of highlighting the positive role Colleges have in the local community. '
