City Skills & Jobs, City College’s one-stop-shop for training and employment opportunities, recently welcomed a delegation of partners collectively benefiting from ERDF funding, including visitors from Holland and France.
The INTERREG 2 Seas GAPS programme funds cross-border projects between French, Dutch and UK partners, is aimed at addressing many different issues from Social Inclusion to Economic Development and helps provide training and employment support.
European visitors at City Skills & Jobs
The purpose of the visit was to discuss the cross-border exchanges that will take place over 2013 and share information on youth unemployment and the barriers to employment that 16-27 year olds face. Partners are now linking up to create cross-border opportunities for apprenticeships, work placements and CV-boosting cultural exchange trips. 'It was a stimulating and productive exchange and bringing the various partners together in this way is really helping to provide increased opportunities for young people in Brighton and Hove', said Matt Brill, Manager of City Skills & Jobs.
