City College's Carpentry department has raised £16,620 towards their Kenya appeal, £2,000 of which was generously donated by St Michael All Angels Church in Eastbourne - only a further £4,000 to go! Also, students from Sports and Public Services courses at City College - Albion fans to a man - recently wore the shirts of their hated rivals Crystal Palace in aid of Sport Relief. The 'Shirt of Hurt' Fundraising concept was dreamt up by BBC 5 Live's Danny Baker who agreed to wear a West Ham shirt as long as his diehard Hammer friend Ray Winstone would wear a Millwall one! The students devoted their lunch-hour to fundraising and collected £50 in less than an hour.
Meanwhile, photography students made £102 in the March cake sale. The money goes to Médecins Sans Frontières and their Haiti fund which currently supports mothers giving birth to the earthquake babies.

Congratulations to the students and staff for all their efforts.
