To promote its 'Science Year' to raise awareness of its science facilities, City College Brighton and Hove has been inviting local schoolchildren to get some first-hand experience of the College's science labs. 200 students are currently studying science at the College and in 2011, it is launching a new Forensic Science course aimed at 16-year-olds.
Phil Frier, Principal of City College, says:

Science at City College
'The fact that the College has excellent resources to teach science is one of Brighton's best-kept secrets and we're keen to do much more recruitment in this area. It's been a great experience for everyone involved to see local school kids enjoying the fun, experimental side of the subject while gaining knowledge at the same time.'
Pheobe Leighton (9), from Cottesmore St Mary's RC Primary School, says:
'I really enjoyed being a scientist for the day and it was fun to learn all the different names of the bones on the skeleton!'
